Liv Complex contains a combination of herbal extracts, including globe artichoke and milk thistle, to help to support normal liver function. Milk thistle (Silybum marianum) seed extracts contain silymarin, which helps to maintain liver cell health through a variety of mechanisms including inhibiting free radical formation, enhancing formation of the antioxidant enzyme glutathione in liver cells and supporting hepatocyte protein synthesis.1 Research demonstrates that artichoke extracts enhance bile production and minimize liver damage following exposure to the hepatotoxin carbon tetrachloride (CCl4).2

Recommended Adult Dose: Take 1 capsule 3 times daily or as recommended by your healthcare practitioner. Use for a minimum of 3 weeks to see beneficial effects.
Risk Information: Do not use if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or allergic to plants of the Asteraceae/Compositae/Daisy family, or have a bowel or bile duct obstruction, gallstones, liver or gall bladder disorders. Stop use if you develop symptoms of liver trouble or if allergy occurs. Consult your healthcare practitioner if symptoms persist or worsen. Bupleurum can cause sedation; use caution when taking other sedatives and operating a vehicle or hazardous machinery.
