Quercetin is a flavonoid antioxidant with many anti-inflammatory properties. Pro Quercetin is effective in the management of hypersensitivity reactions (type I IgE-mediated reactions) that cause a histamine release, such as seasonal allergies.
Quercetin alleviates allergies by stabilizing the membranes of mast cells and basophils, preventing the release of histamine. It also blocks enzymes responsible for producing inflammatory mediators that sensitize the body’s pain receptors.

Most quercetin-based formulas are derived from citrus sources. This may be problematic as citrus is commonly allergenic.
