Ingredient Benefits
Ginger Root Extract (Zingiber officinale)
The therapeutic applications of ginger root (Zingiber officinale) are vast and well-documented. In the stomach, ginger supplementation stimulates antral contractions and consequently accelerates gastric emptying. The active components in ginger, namely [6]-gingerol, [8]-gingerol, [10]-gingerol and [6]-shogaol, may affect gastrointestinal motility through interaction with serotonergic receptors. Further human data suggest additional gastrointestinal benefits, including improved nausea, epigastric fullness, epigastric pain and bloating.
